Your First Appointment

Your first appointment will take around 90 minutes so that a complete history can be taken to obtain the fullest possible picture of what is going on for you. It is thorough, but is also relaxed, and easy-going, and at your pace. All of your information is kept in complete confidence and will not be divulged to anyone without your permission.

The first appointment may include some physical examinations, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and others as necessary. I will also look at your tongue, eyes and nails as these can often give more information about your state of health.

During this appointment we will also discuss your typical diet and day to day lifestyle habits. It is likely that I will recommend some changes, and sometimes some very simple changes will make all the difference to your health.

The follow up appointment is shorter, lasting around 30-45 minutes. You may need a few follow-up appointments several weeks apart, especially if you have had your condition for a long time.

All appointments are Covid aware for your safety. The room is sanitised between patients. Social distancing and hand sanitation are used, as well as masks and/or gloves as appropriate.

Your Herbal Prescription

A tailor made prescription will be formulated for you to take, and you may need to come back for follow-up appointments. You will be given detailed, clear instructions on how and when to take your medicines.

Your prescription will usually be a tincture blended from several herbs, especially formulated to your exact health needs. A tincture is an extract of herbs in alcohol and water. Using alcohol and water ensures that all the constituents of the herbs are extracted, and these can be mixed with additional herbs to make your personal prescription.

You may also receive your herbs in other forms, such as teas, capsules, syrups, creams, ointments etc. The form chosen will be whatever is the most appropriate for you.
